Use Google’s #SmallThanks Hub to Create Review Collateral and Boost Your Reputation
December 29, 2017
Google’s new Small Thanks Hub makes it easy to turn positive reviews into printed marketing material and social media posts.
With the development of Local Service Ads and the overall importance online reviews are gaining, Google wants businesses getting positive reviews and using them to their advantage.
They’ve come up with a handy little platform that lets businesses with positive reviews create social media posts and print collateral using positive review comments from their profile.
It’s really easy. Just go to Google Small Thanks and put in your business name (you must have your Google My Business account verified and you’ll need some reviews for it to pull). There is a drop down where you can choose your business.
It automatically creates posts ready for social media, printable posters, and promotional materials that help you build your review profile.
You can customize the fonts and colors for your brand.
According to Google, 71 percent of consumers say that positive reviews in search results make it more likely they’ll visit a business. Business listings with positive reviews typically get a 360 percent higher click-through rate to their website.
We’ve also noted that Facebook posts with review content do well and often design them for our social media management clients:
Google is moving on this and making it easier than ever to ask for and display review content. If you have a physical location, the posters or cards with the “support us with your reviews and photos on Google” are highly recommended.
If you need more reviews for your profile, we suggest creating an email campaign that asks for Google reviews. Using an email like this one, you can pick up more positive reviews fast:
If their feedback is not good, it will take them to a feedback form. If it’s good, it will link them to your Google review profile.
Also, use this tool to create a link on any email or online document that requests a review. It automatically connects to your review profile.
It’s an interesting side note that Google encourages businesses to request reviews while Yelp’s policy is strictly against requesting reviews. On Yelp, any review their system believes is the result of a direct request is filtered out. A cause for consternation when a legit positive review is filtered.
As Local Service Ads roll out and gain users, it will be interesting to see where consumers put their trust as far as review content goes. Either way, it’s clear that the big players all understand the importance of review content and online reputation.
On Top Rated Local, the Rating Score service creates a cumulative score from all the major review sites, giving a business its most comprehensive rating.
