Be Sure To Detail Your 100% Satisfaction Guarantee Policy
September 26, 2017
I recently came across a delivery service website that specifically stated that they had a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I was looking to ship something rather valuable, so I wanted to know just what their policy was.
I hovered over the words 100% Guarantee to see if it linked to a page explaining the policy. It did not.
I navigated to their Services and About Us pages. Nada.
I got nervous. They seemed to be making a promise without details to back up how they’d keep it.
Doubt. I’m not sure I trust these guys…think I’ll find a different service.
Don’t let this situation play out on your website. If you are going to make the claim that you have a 100% guarantee, you have to detail what that means. Otherwise, it looks like you’re using the term as marketing fluff, making yourself sound better than you are.
Consumers today are too savvy to fall for this. They’ll see what you’re doing and think you have something to hide. They’ll suspect that if something goes wrong you’ll make some kind of shifty excuse.
If you don’t actually have a guarantee, don’t use that word as marketing fluff. It’s not like claiming you are the World’s Best, which no one will take literally anyway.
You say guarantee, and people will take you at your word. Back it up with the details.
